I've removed most of my old ng games. Many of them are now part of my steam games Celadon and Carminia. I'm also reuploading some significantly updated versions with links back to the steam versions.

Celadon has precision platformer gameplay with 7 areas and over 100 levels, and Carmina has puzzle focused gameplay with 8 areas and many updates planned for the future.

You can find them here

Im just now learning that medals on newgrounds are a good way of seeing how far people get in games. That's probably the real purpose achievements and trophies. On steam I can see that 14.8% beat bayonetta on normal and 2.7% beat it on hard mode.

I think sotc might have the most complex collisions ive ever seen. The colossi themselves have a tone of constantly moving 3d slopes and ive never seen them have significant problems. compare that to hollow knight which has simple rectangular collisions the whole game.

A big part of most shmups is complex scoring systems which isnt something you can understand by just looking at them. I think thats why Ikaruga has more mainstream popularity, the polarity switching is easy to understand just by looking, a lot of ikaruga fans dont even think about chaining.

Bayonetta has the same thing as Ikaruga where witch time is an easy to understand mechanic for casuals while the bigger mechanic the game is designed around is dodge offset. But an ideal game would make complex mechanics easy to understand for casuals as well.
